‘Into The Dark’ is the 2nd part of a trilogy of short films, telling the story of Alicija, a young Polish girl who has become caught up in the dark world of human trafficking. Our aim is that these films will raise awareness of the reality of modern slavery and encourage audiences to become involved in the fight against it.
Alicija is missing. Two months ago she went to the UK to take up a new job. At home, in Poland, her father waits – desperately hoping to hear from her – completely unaware of the fate that has befallen her. Together with her old boyfriend, Piotr, he decides to embark upon a quest to find out what has happened to her and bring her home. But will he be prepared for what he finds…?
‘Into The Dark’ is a powerful and touching story of a father’s love for his daughter and how that will lead him to go to any lengths…
HOW THE FILM WILL BE USED
“Human trafficking is the fastest growing international crime.”
“There are an estimated 35.8 million slaves in the world today—more than any other time in history.”
We hope that by engaging with the story and characters of Alicija & her family, audiences will be impassioned to join the fight against modern day slavery. As such we intend to make it available as widely as possible through social media and other broadcast platforms. It is also out intention to enter the finished film into festivals and competitions both in the UK and overseas.
We are currently in post-production for ‘Into the Dark’ and the premiere is planned for this summer. If you would like to help fund this project then please click here.
